Yes, as much as you wouldn't expect it to change anything it's better biomechanically and easier on the shoulders. There's nothing inherently stupid about using it. Using it without safety arms/rack, on the other hand... And as a couple of people have pointed out, a spotter would've made no difference, other than *maybe* a spotter giving a lift would've made this less likely to happen. |

Damn, one simple mistake and it all ends. I see what he did, he had the barbell on the edge of his palm and it slipped off. Before you lift any weight, getting a good grip is paramount.
