Re: Man Burns to Death Outside of Police Station
First, I need to say that despite my username, I have never been a 'human torch'. Burns and burn injuries simply fascinate me. OK. First, this video is from India. Do we know if that country even has such a campaign as 'stop, drop, and roll'? Second of all, it's painful to be on fire, and you're scared. So, you run. It doesn't necessarily mean the person is stupid. Second, the 'fanning the flames' thing. It's logical for someone to not want to get real close when they are putting out a fire. To completely suffocate the flames you need to hold something down on the flames, and that involves risk to getting burned yourself. The guy in the video did that to the flames on the guys back. The problem when he just swatted at his front is that the fire was more intense there. I sure as hell wouldn't want to get too close, even less so there in India where they don't have very good medical care for such injuries. |
