Re: Man Burns to Death Outside of Police Station

again, look at these people. Not a single one with any brains. The guy on fire ran all over the place and didn't drop and roll. The one bystander that tries to help does the typical "fan the flames" technique (making it worse) that we constantly see in these vids, and there is another guy just standing by for a close up view of the action with no intention of helping at all. Plus the others in the background carrying on about their business, and I guess I should also mention the cameraman who found filming to be of MOST importance.
Is it any surprise that these cultures are ridden with poverty and misery and are basically equal to dogshit when this is the level of care citizens have for their fellow man. Let's be clear here. This is not a small 'group' of a few people the act like this. This is something we see in almost every single fire video on DR.
Infact, there was a recent video, involving an Asian man, who comes running out of his truck on fire after he crashed it. Everyone in the area came running to his aid and began throwing sand on him and pouring water on him which immediately extinguished the fire. I remember some of the comments on the video were pointing out the fact that it was odd to see a video that involved lots of people actually trying to help someone on fire rather than the bystander effect we see almost everywhere that's
3rd world. The fact that 3rd worlders actually fan the flames is ridiculous. Cavemen understood how fire works, yet there are modern humans that don't.
Shouldn't you be at a clan rally or something?.Is you hood and robe at the cleaners or something?.

First, I need to say that despite my username, I have never been a 'human torch'. Burns and burn injuries simply fascinate me.

OK. First, this video is from India. Do we know if that country even has such a campaign as 'stop, drop, and roll'? Second of all, it's painful to be on fire, and you're scared. So, you run. It doesn't necessarily mean the person is stupid.

Second, the 'fanning the flames' thing. It's logical for someone to not want to get real close when they are putting out a fire. To completely suffocate the flames you need to hold something down on the flames, and that involves risk to getting burned yourself. The guy in the video did that to the flames on the guys back. The problem when he just swatted at his front is that the fire was more intense there. I sure as hell wouldn't want to get too close, even less so there in India where they don't have very good medical care for such injuries.
