I'm hoping what happened was they were attempting to hide the blood from fans. It may not have mattered one way or the other, but I hope they had him off the ice and en route to the hospital immediately. If he was just laying on the ice and people weren't acting immediately or they had to wait for critical care / ambulance then that's a damn shame

A cut aorta in the neck is a death sentence. Not much can be done in any reasonable amount of time to save someone with a wound like that. Hopefully he didn't suffer too much.

I've said this before. There appears to be very little concern about the wound. What a pathetic attempt to stop the bleeding. Neither the victim, nor the player assisting him dropped their hockey gloves. This shows a complete lack of understanding the severity of this cut or the importance of stopping bleeding IMMEDIATELY. Players regularly drop their gloves if in a fight because obviously you can't throw a decent punch with hockey gloves on. Yet trying to pinch off or plug the jugular, they didn't think REMOVING your fucking gloves MIGHT be the first thing you should do? Now he's dead. This guy could have been saved. This has happened before and the team doctor literally stuck his finger INSIDE the goalie's artery and plugged it. The goalie lived.  |
