A man identified as Valdeli G.d.S., 54, owner of a small grocery store, was shot dead on Friday morning (24) in São Pedro do Glória, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. The victim was talking to a few men - one of whom was his brother - in front of the market when two criminals on a motorcycle approached and fired shots at close range.

According to information released by the police, an employee at Valdeli's store reported that her boss had a lawsuit against a person who owed him money. According to her, this person exchanged checks but stopped paying, generating a debt of R$12,000 (just over $2,000).

Why wouldn’t he play dead.. it seemed they were about to take off, instead of the usual 50 shots to the head, to make sure they shot his one brain enough….
