Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
Its futile to be argumentative about the timescale.. The point is, there is a cop pointing a weapon at you, with earbuds on or not, you stop WTF you are doing and comply... Its really simple

Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
The guy who got shot was just acting instinctively , probably drunk and stoned. He acted the wrong way but it was passive. The cop shot him within 4 seconds of first eye contact, at the precise moment that the suspect was doing what he had been told to do - get his hands out. How that dickhead got into the police is a mystery, but at least McDonald's will give him a second chance. |

Re: Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders an Innocent Unarmed Man
In the US, police are always given the benefit of the doubt in these situations. The legal rule is that a police officer must have a "reasonable" belief that he or she is in imminent danger of serious bodily harm. This is from the point of view of the police officer, and it doesn't matter if the belief is mistaken, as it was in this instance. The assumption is that police officers don't just go around shooting people unless they have a valid fear of harm. Did the officer act reasonably in this situation? He saw a man who he (mistakenly) believed may be armed walking briskly away. In my opinion, the guy acted suspiciously by walking away from his friends. He was clearly trying to avoid the police. Then, he turns around and can clearly see the officer aiming a gun at him, yet he continues walking backwards. The officer sees him moving his hands near his waist, which is where criminals usually conceal handguns. I think in this situation the cop would be cleared of wrongdoing in the shooting. What I found disturbing was the cop's treatment of the guy in the seconds following the shooting. The guy was clearly near death, and yet the cop acted as if the guy was resisting being handcuffed! And then he just let him lie face down in a pool of blood. The cop telling the guy to "stay with me, man" infuriated me, as if the guy's life suddenly had value after the cop realized he had fucked up. |

justified. punk saw the police when he exited, punk knew police wanted him to stop, punk turned around and kept going when he clearly saw cops drawing on him, punk made motion towards waist: he's an idiot. if you can't handle walking with your pants down while listening to music drunk in public, then don't do it. he couldn't handle it. |

I have to watch it again. I did not hear the cop myself. To me, I saw a guy walking by himself get shot for what appears to me to be, no reason. I do agree, when a policeman tells you to do something, you do it. |

took the words right out of my mouth. no innocent man here, that dude looked and acted like he was doing something wrong, vocally denied the police officer, then pulled his hands out of his pants all fast. i would've shot as well. |
