Sigh. Cops cant do right or wrong without someone throwing out THEIR agenda towards that cop. In my state cops are not allowed to administer life saving CPR or other means due to frivolous law suits. If you're dying, a cop must call paramedics and wait for them to arrive. A cop is also programmed to make the arrest, to eliminate the threat, before all else. It may seem cold to handcuff a dying man but it's for the cops safety. I dont think its a much of a God complex as it is a procedural issue. If you dont want cops to shoot you, dont break the law. If you do break the law, expect a cop to point a gun at you, thus raising your chances of being shot by, um I dunno, a couple thousand percent?

The guys hands were already hidden before he even turned around. Personally, I think the cop was freaked and going to shoot his gun as soon as the victim's arms moved - which is exactly what happened.

The police motto used to be: To protect and serve.

Both parties are at fault here in some way.....victim didn't comply like maybe we hoped he would...took too many steps retreating, or maybe was freaked out by turning around and seeing that shit. Cop was a bit trigger happy...didn't see anything that was a threat, and assumed that guy had something and was reaching for it...BUT, he doesn't have to wait around for a weapon to be stuck in his face to respond....all of this could have been prevented with a taser being drawn, not a pistol.....but then again, I'm not a cop. That job is super stressful and difficult....
