Re: Goalkeeper Dies While Celebrating Saving a Penalty
He moved off his line towards the ball, before the ball was kicked. Maybe those couple of metres made the difference, but he probably had an underlying heart condition which was the main cause of death.

Re: Goalkeeper Dies While Celebrating Saving a Penalty
I knew someone who had the same thing happen to him, it just has to hit them in the right (or wrong) place and it causes cardiac arrest, he didn't have anything wrong with him before it's just bad luck, when it's your time... |

Re: Goalkeeper Dies While Celebrating Saving a Penalty
I would imagine some sort of cardiomyopathy at his age. You could tell he was not feeling right as he walked back to the goal posts, even before the penalty kick. Damn shame. |

Re: Goalkeeper Dies While Celebrating Saving a Penalty
Enlarged heart from what? Do you know that an enlarged heart would come with fluid retention, shortness of breath, palpitations etc. Not exactly something you wouldnt notice. Plus what would cause an enlarged heart at that age? Some sort of systemic illness? A cardiomyopathy or even a heart valve disease? If it was a cardomyopathy that would be the first cause of death. A valve diseae, I would imagine would cause some symptoms like shortness of breath when lying down and fatigue. I'd still go with the cardiomyopathy myself. It's a silent killer. |

Re: Goalkeeper Dies While Celebrating Saving a Penalty
Take it from me, that there had little to do with the velocity of the kick. It was a 'substantial blow' - Yaaas it was ... BUT... This young man had internal 'Cardiac' issues. That wouldn't have killed him. That's just a 'no no,' not credible. I just hope someone stands up to defend him in court. |
