Goalkeeper Dies While Celebrating Saving a Penalty
A young goalkeeper, R.I.C, has lost his life in Argentina while celebrating saving a penalty in a local football match. He was playing for his side Union de Golondrina in a match coinciding with an annual religious festival. The tragedy happened around 9pm on Tuesday, July 9, in a village near the city of Reconquista in the north of the province of Santa Fe.  The report added that the victim saved a penalty with his chest and later collapsed on the pitch before going into cardiac arrest. There was no ambulance at the scene and supporters had to put him inside a pick-up truck before he died on the way to the hospital. Efforts made by medical personnel to resuscitate his life on getting to the hospital were futile as he was confirmed dead. “I can’t understand why there wasn’t an ambulance at an event like this,'' his dad said. |

Aww, poor boy, that's so sad. Not only has his family lost him, but the boy who kicked the ball is going to have to live with the guilt.
