I've seen this one but not sure if it was here or on YouTube. I like that they deployed the TASER, but the first cop got way too close to the guy in a very nonchalant manner. I wish they'd tried OC, assuming they had some. I wish cops would resort to fisticuffs for such matters, especially when they have a numbers advantage and the backstop is a busy place like this. In short, I don't like how this one went down. Generally speaking, from a legal perspective, deadly force can be met with deadly force and when he moved toward them with the bat as if to swing it then they were justified in shooting him. I still don't like how this one turned out though. |

Yeah I remember this from a year ago. I'm usually all for the police in these circumstances, but there seemed to be no de-escalation happening here. Pretty quick with the shot. |

2 observations: Let the footage be released without the cops nameplates being redacted. C'mon. They're okay with taking a life (and the subsequent dredging up of every detail about the person's life), so it's only fair the public know the cops name too (ahead of the final attorney general investigation). Also, cops are so fucking stupid. "Hey man, give me your hands. Don't fight.". You dumb son of a bitch. You don't have the mental ability to fully comprehend that the person you just shot is dead or is dying right in front of you, and is fully incapable of following those commands. |
