I used to teach CPR classes while working a part-time job as a lifeguard at my university's aquatics center when I was a student. The technique used here is an unorthodox, but perfectly acceptable way to finish someone off if you fear they might still be alive. To the OP, you'll want to render the phrase as "the sun-kissed Gambia"; always include the article, as the name refers to the Gambia river and environs. Also, a drownist would be someone who does the drowning, not someone who is drowned. The suffix "-ist" is derived from Latin "-ista" - 'one who does [something]'. That's why we don't call rape victims "rapists". My version: A girl took a ride on a rip-tide but was not eyed and thus died on a resplendent beach in the sun-kissed Gambia. The universe sighed and the younger ones cried as the wind's private thoroughfare took death's new bride to some undisclosed place out east from Crimea. |
