One thing I know of the fire service is that it is a brotherhood that transcends international borders because the fight is with a common enemy worldwide. Even during the Cold War the Soviets had an exchange program with FDNY. Tactics are shared. Equipment that is no longer allowed to be use in the US is donated to Third World countries. Departments have been known to even pick up the cost to transport apparatus to another country as well as sending an apparatus operator to instruct the new owners on how to maintain and use it. The loss of these ten jakes is felt worldwide in firehouses everywhere, big and small, urban and rural, career and volunteer. Bloody fake it was 2750 tons of fertilizer stored in a fireworks warehouse no need for a missile or bomb it's been a accidental bomb for six years.

that is fucking terrifying. knowing that my best hopes is that my feet, then lower leg, then thigh, than butt/crotch, then dead(hopefully at that point) is all that can reasonably protect me from whats coming.....     |

There's about a 20 second livestreamed video of about 4-5 firefighters getting ready to enter the warehouse, it was on twitter. They were right there in the parking lot, maybe 30 feet from the building. Cuts off just as the heaviest black smoke comes barreling from under the eaves.
