I worked for a lawyer in college taking evidence pictures of motorcycle accidents. He described it like this - If that is a 50 mile per hour zone - or Km, whatever, your judgement is based on where you are and what that road is most of the time. So, the driver of that car had every right to believe that the oncoming "thing" was doing 50, and could make a decision based on that information. So, he turned thinking he had time. If you've ever pulled into traffic and a speeding asshole is suddenly up your ass honking, same thing. You have every right to believe they are doing the speed limit. It looked to me like that car would've made it if he wasn't doing twice the speed. That or the car was a jackass who didn't see the bike.... |
