Re: First Person View Of A Motorcyclists Death
maybe he's going too fast but some of the car drivers doesn't look around fairly usually Many of them doesn't see the road because they going also too fast and look the another way of the road, speaking with the other wayfarer or pushing cell phones |

Re: First Person View Of A Motorcyclists Death
I agree. I know someone who was involved in a fatal accident with a motorcycle. He turned onto a highway from a side road and a motorcycle smashed into the side of his car. His version of the story was that he looked to the right (this was in the UK) before turning onto the highway and the road was totally clear. He proceeded to turn and there was a huge bang as the motorcycle smashed into his side. The side road was about 150 meters from a junction with traffic lights. The police took witness statements from cars who were stationary at the traffic lights along with the motorcyclist. Their statements were similar - the moment the lights turned green the motorcyclist pulled away and sped off into the distance like a maniac. Sadly the grim reaper was waiting with welcoming arms. The end result was that no futher action was taken against the car driver. I agree with your point that this is not as clear cut as some make it out. At the speed the motorcyclist was going it is possible that the road ahead appeared clear to the car driver - or he was a spec in the distance - before she made the turn. |

Re: First Person View Of A Motorcyclists Death
He was travelling much faster than the posted speed limit. His own stupidity for the need for speed on public roads was his downfall. I sympathize with the parents yet their son was an idiot. He took a risk and paid with his life for his choice to speed.

Re: First Person View Of A Motorcyclists Death
First and only rule of being a biker: You have to take care of yourself. You have no airbags, you have no seat belt, you have no steel body covering you, you are much smaller and harder to see, you must think every single driver is an idiot and about to run a red light. Bikers doesnt get second chances. |

Re: First Person View Of A Motorcyclists Death
I've owned and rode Harley's all of my life and I'm still alive. Yes, this guy was traveling way to fast, in a crowded two lane road with a busy intersection where he should have slowed down. You always leave yourself room for getting out of a bad spot. I saw that idiot coming a mile away and I would have slowed down but this guy keeps going. Then again I wouldn’t have been going that fast and at the very least slowed the fuck down. You don’t get your speed fix on a road like this. The bottom line is; regardless of how fast the biker was going, the other guy is to blame and to me he’s still a murderous bastard.
