I've seen countless examples of the people I work with quietly doing little things for the public that makes me proud. I live in new orleans and your comment on how rare bad cops are is laughble. good cops are impossible to come by here. you should look into the investigations that went on after katrina and about the rogue serial killer cop that was here and operated before and after katrina. cheers.

I live in NOLA too, and in my neighborhood we treat the cops with the respect they deserve for just trying to do their jobs in an incresingly fucked up world. Yes there are bad cops, that's pretty much a given. But for every bad cop there are 100 good cops who take their job and their responsibility to uphold the law pretty damn seriously. Unfortunately, that makes for boring nightly news, so who do you think will get all the publicity?
