I think the bigger question is why does someone need an AK 47?
I didn't need my assault rifle. I wanted it.

Looks like an M14, not an AK.
It's an M1 Carbine. Protip: There are very few ACTUAL AK-47s in the United States that you can legally own and there aren't many more illegal ones, either. Most AKs are of the AKM variety.
