I think some people have got far to used to living in a place where "The possibility of a gun threat" is legally used as a basis and authority for shooting someone dead. That covers just about every scenario where someone doesn't have a weapon. What happened to " positively identifying a firearm which you believe is about to be used offensively". And that's a rhetorical question that does not require an answer.

Update: Cops Won’t Be Charged for Shooting to Death Man in Wheelchair

May 13, 2016 - Four Wilmington, Delaware police officers will not be charged in the shooting death of Jeremy McDole, an African-American 28-year-old in a wheelchair who police opened fire on in September after he refused to raise his hands.

No charges filed means no grand jury will even review the case. The only reason prosecutors even agreed to “look into” the case is because of a cellphone video that surfaced after the killing that showed one of the officers involved — Joseph Dellose — firing a shotgun at McDole in his wheelchair with no provocation whatsoever.

Prosecutors admitted Dellose immediately confronted McDole rather than communicating with the other three officers who were already on the scene trying to deconflict the situation. The cops had been called, ironically now, to the scene because a passerby felt the wheelchair-bound man was a suicide risk.

Dellose’s firing of the gun without warning, the prosecutors said, created “uncertainty as to whether the gunfire came from a fellow officer, Mr. McDole or an unknown third party.”

In the chaos, wheelchair-bound McDole was allegedly ordered to put his hands up. After he did not instantly comply, the three officers opened fire, killing McDole.

McDole’s family issued a statement:

“Jeremy was paralyzed and he could not run or hide. He was sitting in broad daylight out in the open with plenty of nearby cover to protect the police. He was not fleeing from the scene of a felony crime which involved serious physical injury, or a threat of imminent harm to anyone. Jeremy’s assailants never verbally warned him that deadly force would be used against him to take his life if their commands were not followed.”

I agree with most of what you have there. With a small exception:

There is such a thing as "reasonable racism". It's practiced by intelligent people who detect consistent negative behavior patterns in certain ethnicities, and who aren't brain-washed by the liberal media to accept any and all people "no matter what".

Unreasonable racism is the vice of the mentally challenged, certainly. And it makes sense that the conservative are more likely to be racist since they are more inclined to preserve an isolationist perspective on populations because they feel secure with the familiar. But racism can also serve an appropriate function in keeping populations safe from other populations with dogmas that are violently contradictory to the status quo.

Well one way to stop someone threatening to hurt themselves is to kill them and beat them to it!

I still find it odd that a cop would shot you then ask you to put your hands up or show me your hands. I can't imagine being shot and NOT reaching for my injury, typically the torso as that is the cops target, and being able to think clearly past the pain and put my hands in the air and doing exactly what I am being told. Give me a break COPS, you shot me already! If cops are so scared now they have to shot someone over and over they need to find a new profession. Your a F'ing cop, you chose a dangerous profession or did you really chose it just so you could legally kill people!?
