Re: Couple of Lineman Electrocuted Working on Pole

In that job, if the workers are so fucking stupid even THEY don't know when it's safe, then NO ONE should be doing that work. Sub contract it to someone who is an expert. Or at least not a moron.
They skipped training class on the day of "don't fucking touch the live wire, you morons or you'll fucking die" chapter 4 in the training book.

Re: Couple of Lineman Electrocuted Working on Pole

The last time I worked on a belonged to an almost seven-foot Norwegian. I worked that pole like it owed me money. Stroked it, slapped it, talked to it real sweet like then choked it thoroughly, made sure that pole knew who was boss. I throttled that pole until it finally gave up its sauce. Milky and viscous it was, slimy and yet some might say beautiful. It was the whitest grey, chunky in parts, long thick ropes at first, then dribbled down the web between my ring finger and thumb. I guess the pole got sleepy after a while and shrunk up faster than a slinky at the bottom of a stair run. The lesson is that if you play with a pole more than a dozen times, it's likely to erupt on you.
Okay, I'll bite your bate. Is there something wrong with you? Do we have to worry about your safety and other's safety??

Re: Couple of Lineman Electrocuted Working on Pole

Always wondered why linemen don't wear faraday suits when working on high voltage lines?... any experts know?
It's not in the budget.

so it looks like that guy on the ground touched that wire he was holding to the ground and when he did you can see it let juice flow right through those two on the pole. that’s no way to get a promotion.

Actually, those are fiberglass safety ladders with aluminum rungs... insulated not grounded.

I really don't think they understand electricity in some of these poorer countries.

I make my living in ICs / semiconductors and I don't understand electricity either..
