Great video, but what ended up happening with Rashida Jones? I'd like to hear the rest of that.

Re: Corvette Z06 Show Off Pays the Price.

Clearly you’ve never driven a rear wheel drive car with any power. Were you just making this up as you went along?
Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. I've owned a few rear wheel drive cars with horsepower. I've owned an SRT8 392 Challenger 485 hp.

A 79 Camero with an LS8 small block supercharged. Around 500 hp.

And this is my baby I'll never sell. Charger SRT8 SuperBEE with a supercharger. Also around 500hp. I can have it tuned to 550 if I want.

I also have a sport bike that's top speed is 190 mph. Which rides on minimal tread, and gets more grip the less it has.

I spend a lot of money on tires . I know my tire guys well.

Re: Corvette Z06 Show Off Pays the Price.

in dry weather, unless the tyres are worn down to the canvas, bald tyres are better than brand new ones

the only reason tyres have tread (and therefore less surface area) is to dissipate standing water on the road, which in turn means the tyre is directly on the road, and not water

without tread, they have more surface area and therefore more grip - hence why racing cars use slick tyres

it is hard to tell from the video, but it almost looks like only one wheel was spinning which is surprising . . . still a dick move even if it was mechanical, but the lack on tread on the tyres would not have caused the accident

Nope. You make the mistake of thinking worn-down, formerly treaded, tires are akin to racing slicks. This is absolutely *not* the case. DOT-approved (or whatever local gov't department in charge of road safety, per country) public-road consumer grade tire rubber compounds are very VERY different from those used for racing slicks. It is precisely the reason why racing slicks need to be warmed up before being at optimal grip level, be that by heating blankets, burnouts, scrubbing on track or simply driving hard for a lap or two; and why they wear out so quickly---scarcely lasting half a race distance is common. Try driving with soft / medium / hard rubber compound tires on a very cold, but otherwise clear & dry, day... it is like ice-skating, despite the full road / tire contact patch.
Consumer grade tires have witness marks / blocks that give a clear indicator when they absolutely need to be changed. When tread blocks are worn away, you've got just a few millimeters left before the carcass is exposed. This last layer of rubber compound is different from the treaded layer as well; incidentally, a compound unsuited for contact with the road. And no, the groves and blocks in tire profiles aren't solely for the purpose of displacing water. Far from it: they serve to deal with shedding road debris on public roads, along with varied road surface profiles, their construction material, as well as the rubber groves & blocks deforming and squishing to increase grip yet remain durable due to harder compounds used.
Fact of the matter is, Corvette Idiot could have achieved the exact same result with traction control & other dynamic vehicle controls disabled. Add ruined tires to the mix & you've got a guaranteed calamity; let alone obvious inexperience.

Both wheels were clearly spinning (visibly) hence the car getting out of shape. With a one wheel peel he'd have been fine. Three wheels glued to the road with one spinning wildly is just going to make smoke. Both drive wheels losing grip is when you get things like this. Also, you don't seem to understand how tires work and why a purpose built racing slick (I won't even get into explaining heat cycles or tire composition) is entirely different from a bald street tire.

Go sit down in the back corner. What a fucking knucklehead.

Much like this driver

A '79 Camaro with an LSA. Around 500 hp.
LsA is essentially an ls3 supercharged. One of my favorite production blocks besides the Ls9.

Ls8 was never a code designation for Chevrolet.
