Cop here and I was expecting some really bad police work here, but I had mixed feelings about this: fleeing subject that just
lunged at officers with a knife might go harm someone else, but at the same time, he no longer posed an immediate threat. He could have been chased and contained again or reassess if he ran towards other cops/civilians and make a determination then.
