Re: My Spinal Cord Stimulator

How exciting!! Tomorrow at 10am GMT I'm getting an upgrade A new re-chargable stimulator made by Boston Scientific will be implanted in my "back pocket" i.e. bum cheek.

I'm going to wear my knickers that have Bugs Bunny on the back saying "What's up doc?"

It is far smaller and a lot more long-lasting than my current big abdominal Medtronic one. Get this, the remote control alone is worth £1500

Here is the company's "Control your Pain" website who make my new model: http://www.controlyourpain.com/explo..._about_scs.cfm

That's great

If I wear the Fraggle ones, that catchy song will get into his head and put him off I have a long extended Disco version of that on my ipod

Re: My Spinal Cord Stimulator

My upgrade went great £15,000 bit of kit is now in my bum

The op itself was very unpleasant, done under loads of industrial strength local but no sedation. I felt, heard and smelled everything, it made me curse the place down Parts of it was so sore, I was crying for sedation at least!!! I was there all exposed being butchered in 4 stages

It's now 2 days on and I'm in a lot of pain where the old one was removed from my abdomen, new one in my upper buttock and two new leads fed under my skin from the battery into my lowest thoracic spinal region.

The unit works far better than my old one

Most people have no clue just how strong, or brave she is. She is in a class by herself in my opinion. Hang in there young lady.
