Re: My Spinal Cord Stimulator

Most people have no clue just how strong, or brave she is. She is in a class by herself in my opinion. Hang in there young lady.
This is the first time I've ever been moved to tears, thanks Bill for your lovely special words xxx

Re: My Spinal Cord Stimulator

We tried to. At the time in 1996, you couldn't get legal aid so we had to pay all legal fees. We shopped around and the cheapest was £12,000 My family and I just could not afford it. I tried again later on but they told me I was unfortunately too late Apparently, I would have received a 6 figure sum compensation payout.

That sucks! I guess you have statutes of limitations there, too. Here, in the US, in a personal injury case, the lawyer doesn't get paid unless/when the case is successfully settled.

I bet you set off metal detectors at aiports. I had a stupid barrette do that once. The guy behind me had metal buttons and he set it off and I'm going back like 20 years so who know what happens now? I thought it was a bit ridiculous that it was that touchy, but, things have happened since then.

Re: My Spinal Cord Stimulator

Murder has no statute of limitations here, but, I watched a case earlier today where the woman pleaded down to 10-11 years in jail and I can't remember why the judge allowed it! I was pissed.
The only charge they could charge her with because of statutes on fraud and contributing to the delinquency of minor had passed and I think they were afraid people would question first degree murder.
What bull!

The husband had MS and the wife and her teen son, from another husband, who was 17, and not charged, was forced to carry him to a grave after using a back hoe. His bones were sitting up when they found him. I forget how many times she shot him.

I hate when they plead down for murder! They should have gone for it! Life in jail was the least she should have gotten.

Re: My Spinal Cord Stimulator

statute of limitations here in the US is seven years.
For medical malpractice? I know MVAs are two or three in my surrounding states and home state.

Laws keep changing though, Sharon! You have nothing to lose!

Except for that one person, we really like you :)

Re: My Spinal Cord Stimulator

I often set off shop security alarms and then have to show my ID card which states that I have an implanted medical device and quite a lot of info about it. A man in music store HMV didn't believe me so I made him feel the thing, he did not like it and quickly let me go

Airports are Hell. I have to show my card, not go through the gates as I get a surge or small jolt but then have to be frisk searched instead So embarassing. Least they are checking, doing their job for the safety of others and i appreciate that
