Re: My Relapse
I worked with a girl that used to cut. After talking to her for a whole 8 hour shift about it, It seemed to me that there was some conflict inside her that would build up pressure like a bratwurst on a grill and when she cut herself, it released the "juices" of the conflict for a while. After a few more discussions, it turned out her conflict was that she was biologically straight, but had a lesbian encounter with a neighbor girl when she was 13. The resulting first kiss/crush wired her emotionally to like girls. Her head and her hormones would rollercoaster back and forth like motion sickness. After a few "talks", she decided that she could be both and came out , got a girlfriend, and a guy friend or two on the side to give her the business when she had the urge. Not exactly a Hallmark Channel ending, but She still seems genuinely happy and hasn't cut since. My take-away was that the cutting isn't a suicide thing, or wanting attention, or a "nobody loves me" thing, but some kind of (emotional/psychological/physiological) pressure buildup inside you that you cut to let it out so you don't pop??? Like a visible sign of relief??? |

Re: My Relapse
I think there is unquestionably an element of exhibitionism in cutting. Why else would MadChef post a new picture? There's no point. We all know what it looks like. We are not impressed by the cuts, and are more likely to be sympathetic if he/she simply talked about it. That's my take.

Re: My Relapse
Are u really asking for help? In a Gore forum? Or is this attention seeking? Those cuts look superficial. Get help. Take your meds. Therapy. Do what u need to do to get better. I've been in therapy myself and I've been a mental health counselor. Seek real help (not attention) and u can make a difference. Good luck to u.
