Anyone that is so ignorant, it 2014, after all the education programs etc to say suicide is selfish, YOU are the selfish ignorant ones. Expecting someone to stay, just for YOU, is SELFISH. It works both ways. IF they are selfish, SO ARE YOU FOR WORRYING ABOUT THE EFFECTS ON YOU! |

I forget who, but there used to be a well known quote that suicide is the ultimate act of self-absorbtion. Maybe so. Reasons transcend depression. Uselesness, terminal illness, loss of hope (which isn't depression, just the realization that you're at the end of your rope and there's nowhere left to go but down in certain agony which again ties in with terminal illness). Self assisted euthenasia should be a viable option to some. Consider a guy that does something stupid while drunk or stoned like feel up a kid. I don't condone that being the father of two myself. But a draconian sentence that considers that a captial crime in most states in the US because of today's hysteria remands this person to mandatory life in prison without parole or at least 40+ years in prison where he's going to forever be a pariah. That would be a legitimate exuse for self euthenasia if given the option. If your only option later on is going to be horrific torment and pain, early termination is reasonable. Asian and past cultures even promoted this concept to protect their family before dishonor. Sure it hurts those around you sometimes, but a majority of these people don't have anyone to disappoint, otherwise they would be supported. Salem makes a valid point.

This is the dumbest reason for suicide I have seen on here yet.
