Re: Young Woman's Throat Severed by Kite Line
Glad I have a windshield on my scoot......I just watched a TV special on animals and they were reporting about bird rescues at a huge kite-flying event in India. They start flying kites at dawn, and the winner is the last one aloft at dusk. About 2000 birds are injured during the one days flying. They save about 1000 birds. They use the same kind of kite strings as in this post. The videos of birds running into the huge numbers of kite strings is pretty grim. Vets from all over the world go to India for bird rescue for this "kite day".

Re: Young Woman's Throat Severed by Kite Line
if its stretched taut and anchored on both ends, it probably will break. but if it is just lying loose, it will travel its length across your throat as you pass at high speed. the friction and heat will be like sawing your neck with the rope. unless you're quick enough to stop as soon as you felt the line hit you. |
