Dude is a college professor and he couldn't figure out his bag of body parts needed to be heavier than an equal volume of water? Put some rocks in the bag  I'm betting there is more to the story and they are leaving out the parts less flattering to the victim like that she wasn't getting any decent sex from sugar daddy and was getting it elsewhere. Doesn't make him any less of a murderous creep but jealous rage fits human nature better than freaking out over a limp pecker.
