Gun is some kind of modern .22 LR hunting rifle that was cut down to make a pistol of sorts. Such weapons are fairly common in countries like Russia where handguns are heavily restricted or illegal for civilians.

I am not convinced it was a take-down variant as one poster suggested I think they just took an ordinary rifle and cut clean through the barrel and stock to shorten it as much as possible.

Accuracy would be rather limited as it only has the rear sight but velocity is only reduced by about 20% by cutting the barrel off so there is still ample power to kill a person or animal at close range.

The "obrez" has a long history in Russia,though traditionally it's a cut down mosin nagant. Lots of fire and noise. This .22lr variant is probably more useful tbh

Reminds me of Harrison Ford's "blaster" in the movie Blade Runner, supposed to be set in the future. The "blaster" was made partly with an old Mannlicher bolt action rifle with double triggers.
