At around 5am on 9th November 2019 in St Petersburg (Russia), 63 year old O.S. fell into the Moyka river. He was rescued + taken to the hospital with hypothermia. In the rucksack of the Napoleonic era historian, were a pair of women's hands. They belonged to 24 year old A.Y. who was the co-author of his scientific books. 'O' confessed to the murder, stating that after shooting 'A' dead, he went to a shop + bought lots of alcohol + a saw. Upon his return, he dismembered the young lady + placed her body parts in his rucksack. In the morning, he tried to get rid of them in the river, but the bag wouldn't sink. Panicking, he attempted to submerge the bag + it's grisly contents but slipped + fell into the water. Once at the hospital, a search was made on the drunk historian's home. The decapitated head of 'A' was found. The pair had met in 2016 + began a romantic relationship. Friends of 'A' stated that 'O' killed her as he was a jealous + impotent old man.
