Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
Here's a photo of James Hinchcliffe from yesterday. He's amazing...and the safety team and doctors are to be commended. https://instagram.com/p/2_3jt1u4vG/ |

Maybe off-topic for this thread this Dirt Rally thing - otherwise we would be talking about videogames all the time. But hell yeah, Codemasters are finally doing a decent Colin McRae Rally 1&2 successor, as -3, -4 and all the Dirt -titles were utter arcade crap. Dirt Rally is going to something in between the hardcore simulator (like Richard Burns rally was) and semi-arcade like CMR1-2 were. Hopefully it'll stay close to a simulator! Attached is a picture of Colin himself in 1992 Acropolis Rally. |

Innes is stretchered away with Sterling Moss in attendance. The medic bottom left looks like he is administering the morphine shot that nearly killed Innes, turned out he was allergic. He suffered a broken collarbone, wrist and leg and credited his survival to Sterling who recognised his bad reaction to the morphine.

Re: Indy/Formula One: Fatal and Non Fatal Crash Photos (Stop Motion, Color, B&W)
I ran Pike's Peak in a Sprint Car in 1979. Well almost, the two speed transmission we had broke on my second run up on the practice day, the day before official qualifying so I never became an official entry. My first run up was very careful and the second one was a little faster until I broke halfway up. We had no illusions of winning or even doing very well, we were just doing it for the sheer hell of it. I went to the previous year's winner and asked him for advice. He told me, "Son always treat the mountain with the greatest amount of respect. Learn the corners. On the ones you can kill yourself if you go over the side be very very careful. The ones where you will only maim yourself… go like hell." |
