Re: How to Dig a Grave
Hi Sylvz88. I have only just discovered the first set of pics you posted a year or so ago of the bodies you dug up. I cannot believe I missed them and thank goodness you posted this because it made me go and look up that other post. I can't thank you enough for posting these pics. It's something I've always been fascinated about, death and dead bodies...hell, that's why I am on D.R. Fantastic post and fantastic pics. |

Re: How to Dig a Grave
In that case it wasn't recycling because the concession is still the same family's and is available for 30 years and even 30 more years if the children pay the tax otherwise after a while the tomb will be for sale again. and the bones taken to the ossuary. But we do that for some tombs given to poor people by the town, only available for 5 years (in theory, I know some that are 70 years old). as long as there's no space problem dead people can lay there without being bothered (by someone like me) The reason why there was bones near the top is because the past grave digger was too lazy and dug only what was necessary for one coffin but he forgot the dead man's wife who was going to die eventually. and fifteen years later it's a mess. hopefully the man's carcass was decomposed. The day of that funeral, at the end when the family was receiving the condoleances a boy came to me asking if it's was bones overthere? I looked, and I saw some ribs I forgot to hide, and I said yes to him, and then he asked "Human bones???" and I was thinking "you bet they are, they're your uncle's!!!" |

Re: How to Dig a Grave
Thank you, it's true I love my work and I'm always happy to start a new day . It may seem hard when you see the amount of earth there is to dig but when you're used to it, it's not that difficult. And it keeps me in shape ;-) I prefer to work hard for 2 hours than to maintain a certain rythm for 8 hours. The way I see it my job is easier than many others. but I keep quiet about it...but on the other side I feel that I earn my bread honestly.
