How many people start off with oxys or fentanyl from docs, and then move on to hard drugs when the tolerance builds up. What is the government doing? Oh that's right, nothing. Cos theyre just "junkies" that deserve to die.

It’s scary how close I was to being one of these people. At one point, while living in NYC, I had 3 doctors giving me the same monthly prescriptions. I had a friend mailing me my monthly pills from a doctor in Arkansas, and a doctor in Manhattan who I used my work insurance with, and another doctor in Manhattan that didn’t take insurance. Total I was getting monthly: 360 10mg (10/325) Hydrocodone 360 Soma 240 2mg Xanax bars 60 Ambient And I was still out for about 10 days per month!! It’s a story for another day, but after at least 6 hospitalizations for near death accidental overdoses, I am clean now. |

I actually wanted to, but I just didn’t know where to get it. At the time, I worked in the fashion industry in the city and I was at my office in midtown pretty much all the time. I lived in Harlem (128th & Lenox) and despite what people think about the Harlem area, I was honestly never offered drugs. I believe the dealers had moved up into the Bronx. My apartment was in a really touristy area, about a 3 minute walk to the Apollo theater. I wanted to try harder drugs, but didn’t know where to begin and just managed with all my prescriptions. I firmly believe that if I’d tried illegam drugs I’d be dead. I mean, I did cocaine once in Vegas BUT I really wanted to try heroine because that’s more my thing. I like things that make you chill. I know if I’d ever gotten a chance to try heroine my life would be over.

Also, I’m moving to Denver next month so I’m looking forward to trying THC pills for my pain. I can’t smoke it. I have asthma and just can’t handle it. I’ve already got an appt for a meeting with a doctor to get my prescription card (or whatever they call it) to get the prescription strength THC pills. I’ve heard great things about people who have had their addictions cured sometimes instantly by trying the THC pills. Although I’m clean now, I’m in a lot of pain and I still desperately crave the one thing that takes it away. I was hit head on by a person on the wrong side of the interstate. 120mph impact. I’ve shrank 2 inches in height because the cushions between my lower vertebras have dissolved and bones are rubbing together. It also knocked the curvature out of my neck. Unfortunately I’m a person who needs pain pills but I’m also a person who is highly addicted to them and can’t make them last even close to how long they should last me.

Former heroin addict here, been clean for just over a year. I was given co-codamol by hospital specialist, then he changed me to tramadol, and then Oxycodone. He left the hospital, new doc took me off everything after being on them for years, he cut me down from 80mg a day, to nothing in less than two weeks. Pain kicked back in, withdrawals both mental and physical started and I couldn't take it. I bought oxy on the dark web, then couldn't afford it any more because it was £30 a pill. Heroin was £10 for a bag and at the beginning could see me through a week. That quickly changed and I was buying more and more just to stop the withdrawals. I never shot up, only smoked it (despite hating smoking - never smoked weed, cigarettes or anything). It stopped being effective and I ran out of money so went cold turkey and have been clean ever since. At least 3 times a week I think of buying some, because of the pain and because my mental struggles get bad, but seeing these pictures, and imagining my mother having to see me like the people in this thread has firmly made me swear never to touch that shit again. Truly heartbreaking for anyone to have to go through. Thank you so much for this post, it's helped me clear my mind of wanting to have "just one more high". Most of the people on here wanted one more and it was their last. People who are addicted are not animals, the majority of addicts are not "scum" or thieves, I never stole anything or borrowed money from family etc, and many people I know don't either. There are a bad few, but all of the people in those photos were loved and had families who cared about them. The addiction was just too strong and I hope their families can find peace. |

The supplement and herb called KRATOM would cure this epidemic. It works. It gives the same high but is completely safe and legal. The FDA doesn't want it to be legal cuz then people wouldn't need these opiates or their shitty Suboxone. You can't patent a plant. If you or anyone you know has an opiate problem, suggest they get KRATOM.
