I keep reminding myself, beyond all that, there is a human being. I have no idea how they got there. I don't know what their life has been. I don't know what happened to them. I don't know who or what hurt them. But I do know they are a human soul in so much emotional and/or physical pain that it seemed to them that only a drug could make things better. And how many times have I turned to drug or drink? They are no worse and I am no better. I am just luckier than they were. Things fell differently for each of us. Be Kind. Compassion costs you not one cent and it makes the world a better place.
