There is a thread on that site that is nothing but WWII hanging. Most are here but I may have missed some.

I can't tell from the codes visible on the negative/transparency edges in the first photo, but it is possible that they are indeed color photos (Agfachrome). We think of WWII as a black and white war, but a surprising number of German troops had access to color film. I have seen a brief color film clip of a Nazi mass hanging, including one woman.

Agfachrome is a very durable transparency film, especially if stored in the dark. It does fade with the passage of time, taking on a brownish "hand-tinted" look which seems apparent in these photos (American transparency films of the time, conversely, tend to fade to the red end of the spectrum).

So....these could be genuine ad originally in color. But without further information, it is impossible to say for certain.

The numbers visible on the edge of the film in the first photo appear to be only frame numbers. I would expect to see the name of the film maker and a code number indicating the film type. But whether that was true of German wartime film....who can say? The frame number markings are for full and half-frame 35mm cameras, which would be accurate.

Pain and illness are a leading cause of suicides in all culture groups. Probably an underlying cause in more of these images than we realize.
