Thanks. I've put quite a bit of work into it since it broke 3 months ago, so I appreciate your comments. Also, in terms of case updates, the evidence and confessions gathered thus far have been determined adequate to arrest the former governor. His brother (the police commissioner) was arrested last night and he (the governor) was arrested and taken into custody at 1:45 this afternoon. More to come as I receive and translate it. |

An English language story on this case. It is a pretty straight news story from official sources and does not contain the information from off the record sources that most of the Cambodian language stories do, but the Google translate of those is usually hard to make sense of.

Haha, yer takin all the fun out of my translation work with these English story links. :P Anyway, yes the two drivers were released whereas the governor, his brother, the housekeeper, and her husband, have all been charged and detained. The English links don't include much detail, but nothing new has cropped up with my Cambodian sources either. No new postmortem photos, either. There likely won't be any forthcoming, unless some leak from the trial, which is possible. Currently the operating theory is that the Gov and his brother did the actual murder and the maid and her hubby are being charged with cleaning up the crime scene and staging the hanging. Not sure WHY the two brothers would bring in some dopey housekeeper to do the cleanup and therefore risk exposure (and yes, she was the first to crack), but they're likely regretting having done so.  |
