My guess: The body was buried in a shallow grave. Erosion after a rainstorm exposed the upper part of the body, allowing it to be eaten away. After the next rain, the body becomes dislodged and is discovered.

Apparently the cause of death was a gun powder cannon from the old days inserted in is ass. This caused what we call a severe "Broken Asshole"
