I saw this on Sunrise.
Apparently the truck driver had a 'medical episode'? My mum thinks it was a heart attack. Has it come out yet?
I saw a previous poster who commented an article saying he had an ice pipe next to him. Don't do drugs, I guess.

the new headline is that drug paraphernalia is found in the truck that directly caused the tragedy
and yet the picture is of the guy who was indirectly involved

i am not sticking up for the porsche guy at all, but the way the media is trying to manipulate everyone is truly disgusting - if the truck driver wasn't an indian/part of a minority group, they would be all over him

The FACTS are the Porsche driver was speeding and tested positive for something. It could have been a joint he smoked a week ago, we don’t know.

This footage isn’t his. The police even acknowledged in court he didn’t upload anything to FB.

But so far his face,name,job and literally exactly where he lives has been given to every person in the state.

No one can tell you how to react when 30 plus tonne of metal, travelling 100 Ks,smashes into 2 cars and killing 4 people right before your eyes. The noise, the screams, the sight. Even trained personnel would be shocked.

So now some filthy curry muncher driving a truck has fucked his and 20 plus other people’s lives.

But the media has us trained. We need a villain, we need to point a finger. The media are scum. Self serving, manipulative liars.

The Porsche dude won’t get a job in this State for years. Apparently he is known to police and plays loud music at night. He drives a fast car fast and must be a douche. He is the evil one. The media has fucked this bloke for doing fuck all but being an arrogant wanker.

I agree totally with this post. I don't understand why they are using the Porsche driver as a scapegoat. Just because he is known to police, and has any criminal record, doesn't mean that he killed these officers. It was an ACCIDENT and if anyone should be judged the hardest, it should be the driver of the truck. Why did he curve out of his lane into the emergency lane? That's when they were killed? I don't get it

the care was being impounded - there was a lot more to it than a speeding ticket

you were already given the answer - they were impounding the car, among other things, and when impounding cars, the procedure is for another patrol car to show up if one is available

He should not have been driving so fast in the first place and none of this would have occurred.

I can't stand scumbags who speed or tailgate. Their lives are so much more important than everyone else's that they need to be at their desired destination 7 minutes earlier than others.

For what it's worth, I doubt this Porsche driver will cop it bad in prison. Not many crims like authority or the police.
