Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputies Shoot and Kill an Armed Man
An investigation is underway after Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies shot and killed an armed man on Friday night, July 24, following a confrontation in a Bellflower neighborhood. The shooting occurred shortly after 9:00 PM in the 10400 block of Artesia Boulevard, near Grand Avenue. According to sheriff's officials, deputies from the Lakewood Station responded to an emergency call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon suspect who was reportedly armed with a firearm. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies made contact with the suspect. At some point during the encounter, at least one deputy opened fire, striking the man. The suspect was transported by paramedics to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No deputies or bystanders were injured during the confrontation |
