The 15-year-old boy under investigation for allegedly committing a shooting that killed two people and injured three others in Campo Mourão, in the central-west region of Paraná state, confessed to the crime after turning himself in to the Civil Police.

This minor came forward, confessed to the crime and presented the weapon used in the crime. According to him, he did not know how to shoot and showed remorse for the crime. The weapon, which was seized, belonged to a brother of the minor who died in 2024, according to the shooter's own account.

In his testimony, he claimed that the target of the attack was only Veridiana Gaya Menin Machado Sate, 40, who was hospitalized in serious condition. In addition to her, another woman, 23, and a man, 41, were injured.

Marcio Bertholdi Geraldo, 43, and Michael Zachytko Cavalcante, 38, were killed.

The revenge motive stemmed from the death of his brother, which occurred during an incident in which the teenager and his mother were victims of attempted murder. He had harbored this resentment since that day.

The teenager's mother was arrested on Saturday but was released to await trial. During a search of her home, police found explosive material, signal jamming antennas, two rounds of ammunition, and a small quantity of drugs.
