Fleeing Motorist Dives Head First from Bridge During Police Chase
Stone County, Mo. A Kimberling City man is in custody after a vehicle pursuit led to him allegedly assaulting 3 deputies. Court records state Gavin Thor Lundgren is charged with one count of third-degree assault, two counts of fourth-degree assault and one count of aggravated fleeing a stop. According to the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, on July 18, deputies attempted to stop a car on the north end of Kimberling City at around 1:50 a.m. The driver then fled going south. Deputies said the car was going 75 miles per hour in a 45-mile-per-hour zone. The pursuit led deputies to the Kimberling City Bridge. The driver, later identified as Lundgren, got out of the car and jumped off the east side of the bridge, going down into Table Rock Lake. Deputies said they stopped Lundgren’s car as it was still in drive and continued to roll forward. Southern Stone County firefighters assisted with locating Lundgren on their boat while other units remained on shore. A deputy on scene later found Lundgren. Lundgren is accused of injuring three deputies while attempting to be taken into custody, with two being headbutted by him. Deputies then brought Lundgren to the Stone County Jail without incident. |

Nice dive! I wonder how high the bridge is from the water!?! It’s pretty fun to see people like this who toss their finger at law enforcement. Some of us know better but it’s fun to watch those who don’t. |
