Unfortunate shift in police training. It used to be about keeping the peace and community relations. Now it's an us against them mentality and personal saftey above everything. That's drilled in from day one that there's an enemy out there nowadays. Police no longer are trained to de-escalate situations. To the contrary, they are trained to intimidate and escalate. This is the result. This should be about community building, not treating and being trained that the community is an insurgency.
too right...gotta keep that prison industry profitable..

In the old days it was common for the officers to ask you to exit the vehicle, the old vet probably just forgot.
