11 Year Old Arrested After Writing a "murder List"
An 11-year-old boy was detained on Monday after writing what authorities describe as a “murder list” at Highbanks Learning Center in Deltona, Volusia County, Florida. The minor, identified as Karson Curry, faces a felony charge of making a written threat to kill. According to the county sheriff's office, the school officer confirmed that Karson did not have access to weapons at the time of the arrest. The case was reported on Monday, November 10, when school staff alerted the police after finding the document with names of potential victims. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office acted immediately and took the boy into custody. In a statement published on its official page, the sheriff's office emphasized that although threats in schools have recently decreased, they continue to be treated as serious crimes: “This type of threat will result in felony charges,” the institution stressed. |
