Hope you put a bit of release training into that dog before it grabs a hold of someone you don't want it to and doesn't let go. That'll earn it a bullet nice and fast. Otherwise, nice looking dog. |

very good and valid point .. He gets lots of training and does let go when ordered too (just not the brush) he's 7 months old now and becoming very obedient. Any issues later on will result in at the very least .A muzzle at all times when out and professional training |

Good stuff, glad to hear it. I know that my Dane obsesses over certain objects and has a harder time relinquishing those without being aggressive towards people or dogs, so I hope it stays the same with yours as well. Sometimes they just fucking want that broom. Or blanket. Or car tire still attached to a car.

Bull terriers (or really any dog that is like this beyond tiny puppy stage) need strong training not to bite, and to release items when commanded. This sort of behavior is not cute. It should not be encouraged or tolerated.

I had a lab pup back in 2007 (he got out of the yard and we never saw him again  ) and he loved chasing the big push broom we had. He was fun to play with while I swept the patio free of leaves.

Ceasar Milan has a lot of good points too. Where you give the dog a quick but small jab in the ribs = it snaps them out of that behaviour. My dog, I can go and nip her on the nose even with her ball in her mouth, crawl up to her while she's eating and push her out of the way with my nose etc etc. She is well trained from myself with love and proper discipline. Didn't take much cuz they're very smart dogs and learn fast! |

Just be careful with that technique; it can work well, but what Cesar is careful to do is to make sure the dog is aware of his presence first BEFORE he does the jab. If you happen to catch them in a moment where they aren't aware of you, and you do the jab, there's reasonable chance you'll get a good bite to the poker out of startle-response. This is why you should never poke a blind dog with your dick. Seriously, don't. |
