Florida Woman Gets Life in Suitcase Death (JCS)
Sarah Boone was sentenced to life in prison on December 2, 2024, for the death of her boyfriend, Jorge Torres, whom she zipped inside a suitcase and left for hours at their home in Winter Park, Florida, in February 2020. A six-person Orange County jury convicted Boone of second-degree murder on October 25, 2024, after a little more than an hour of deliberation. Videos found on her phone showed Torres pleading to be let out of the suitcase while she laughed and refused. Boone called 911 the next day and told the dispatcher her boyfriend was dead. Detectives questioned her that same day, and she told them the two had been playing a game. Before trial, Boone rejected a plea offer that would have carried 15 years. Judge Michael Kraynick imposed the life sentence. The video is a narrated analysis by JCS - Criminal Psychology that runs about 37 minutes. Released before the trial, it covers the 911 call and detectives' interview with Boone, with commentary on her account of the night, her behavior and the detectives' technique over interview-room footage. It is not raw footage.
