Orlando Man Gets Life for Wife's Murder (JCS)
David Tronnes, 54, was sentenced to life in prison in October 2023 after a jury found him guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Shanti Cooper-Tronnes, 39, in Orlando, Florida. Cooper-Tronnes was found covered in blood in the bathtub of the couple's home in the Delaney Park area in April 2018. The jury deliberated for about five hours before returning its verdict. Tronnes told police that his wife had slipped and fallen in the bath. A medical examiner testified that injuries to her face, bruising around her eyes and blood evidence showed she had been strangled and struck on the head. Trial evidence showed she was killed in the bedroom and that Tronnes tried to clean up before officers arrived. Prosecutors said Tronnes had spent heavily renovating the house in the hope of appearing on the television program Zombie House Flipping. They said his wife's refusal to take part had led to the killing. The video is a narrated analysis by JCS - Criminal Psychology and runs about 35 minutes. It focuses on Tronnes's police interview after the death and his account of a fall in the bath, with commentary on his behavior and the detectives' technique over interview-room footage. It is not raw footage.
