I've read that sometimes a type of putty is injected into the lips to make them look fuller. It isn't related to making the mouth look less sunken with cotton or other fillers.

Her features do seem to have softened up. I think people who knew her at the funeral might have noticed a difference. At least she didn't suffer long following her crash, if she even noticed at all.

The crime reports are confusing. Her boyfriend actually didn't kill her, although they were arguing at the time.

It seems that the woman and her boyfriend were arguing when someone walked up to them and started firing, killing her. There was a small amount of marijuana in her car, but there is no clear motive for the crime.

I think the family and friends would have possibly felt a bit better if she had just a 'hint' of a smile.

The mouth is really hard to get right, but the embalmer certainly didn't have to inject the lips like that.

No idea.. Never seen an embalmer do that for feature settings. I've only used/seen lip mold, cottons and stay compound creme to manipulate the lips. And her pose is actually not bad. They are suppose to look like they are peaceful asleep. You are trying to give closure to the family, not nightmares.

I just don't think her lips were injected with anything. Even the deads can have nice full lips without the artificial

She certainly had full lips if they can be confused for an embalming mistake.

Etsu, you seem to be really knowledgeable about embalming and reference some work you've done. Do you work in the funeral industry?
