Re: Totally Awful Close Up's of Girl's Open Casket
My uncle took himself out with a .30-6 deer rifle in the mouth and for whatever reason the funeral home thought it'd be a bright idea to attempt facial reconstruction for an open casket. Luckily we second guessed their opinion and a few of us went in to see him prior to the viewing to ensure open casket was appropriate. Well, the best way I could describe what we saw was it looked like they did a paper mache face and painted it to look like El Chapo (No my uncle is not Mexican but he does indeed have a mustache so there is that similarity). Thank goodness we went in before allowing my grandmother or his kids in because that is a horrible picture to have in your mind. Sometimes I feel like the mortician just wants to show of their "work" and they push for open casket but there is definitely a fine line. Especially since most funerals it seems like they put the casket right as you walk in forcing everyone to look at the body. Although it doesn't typically bother me, everyone is different.
