Re: Totally Awful Close Up's of Girl's Open Casket
Heaven forgive me, but she looks like Vicky Pollard from TV comedy Little Britain after that makeup. Though the funeral people are doubtless innocent, as parents are the ones dictating open coffins aren't they? |

Is it just me, or does anyone else think they've made her look like Lady Gaga in the casket photos?

Re: Totally Awful Close Up's of Girl's Open Casket
Just forget what you have read about and wish to believe when it comes to reconstructive processes.Do not measure this outcome based upon a natural death where there is no mutilation or disfigurements. This case does not in any way fit that type of senario. My guess is that the preparations of this lady had to be done in a very short space of time and she was very disfigured from the accident. I recognise an abundance of wax which only suggests that facial tissues were missing. The chin - mouth and lips have been remodeled. The cosmetics are very heavy and definately not airbrushed. (That would of made a huge difference). If she was embalmed then that would of taken a few hours. Then you need to wait for the tissues to dry prior to apply wax and re modeling the features. That would of taken another hour or so. Often the mortuary worker is instructed to work for a price which limits his options and then is asked to work in a very tight time frame.. Only some things are possible when you have these type of restrictions put upon you. This is a recurring problem within the funeral industry and I would be more inclined to critisice the Funeral home managment rather than the mortician for not allowing him / her to utilize all skills and options.. As bad as this image looks I can still tell that genuine attempts were made and I am positive the mortician did his best given his skills / experience and enforced boundaries. With regards to the colors please remember that the mortician did not pick her clothing/ hair color or lipstick. These would of been supplied by family members. Sometimes a person is so disfigured a positive result cannot always be achieved. In these circumstances families are usually advised to remember their loved one as they were with a closed casket. Again if the family choose not to take your advice you just have to do your best for them. |

Re: Totally Awful Close Up's of Girl's Open Casket
if you don't want to see your loved ones after death - simple; don't go to the viewing however, some people do - the idea doesn't do much for me, but why should anyone else be denied their last chance to see a loved one because others object so noisily; it seems just because some people in this world find something distasteful, they naturally feel they should stop everyone else from doing it too |
