Damn thanks for keeping us up on this... I wonder if something might pop off... does anyone know what Belarus would gain from going further with this... I can only think of Russia getting something out of it which would be Putin stepping in and using it as some sort of bargaining chip or what have you he can say he's the one who prevented the conflict between Poland and Belarus..... I don't know it's so weird I don't I can't think of any really good strategy but I'm not a tactician maybe someone can come up with a good reason on why Russia or Belarus would want to be acting this way and lying

I don't imagine Belarus or Russia will do anything in a NATO country. They may push the boundaries (this incident and bombing a port 250 meters from Romania) and talk a lot of shit about doing something but they do that about a lot.

They're well aware that if they attack a NATO country, they will have potentially a gigantic army made up of 31 (probably 30 because Hungary is not being very NATO like right now ) different countries coming after them. Both nuclear weapon usage and this very scenario would be the result of severe desperation on Putin's part, in my opinion.

He knows better, but he may not give a fuck.

I do know one thing. If they're stupid enough to attack a NATO country at all, then it's on. I can't even begin to wrap my head around what that would look like.

Intel: The Security Service of Ukraine accused Russia on Friday of preparing to stage a "false flag" attack at the Mozyr oil refinery in Belarus in order to blame Ukrainian saboteurs as part of an effort to draw Minsk into the war in Ukraine.

The attack, it said in a statement on the Telegram app, would be carried out by military and intelligence forces sent by Moscow to Belarus disguised as Wagner mercenaries who were exiled after staging a mutiny in Russia in June.

"Russia plans to accuse Ukraine of what they have done in order to try once again to draw Minsk into the full-scale war against our state," it said in a statement, without providing evidence.

It said its assertions were based on information obtained from several sources, including a captured Russian serviceman.

Belarus is a close Kremlin ally and Moscow's forces used Belarusian territory as a staging ground for their abortive drive towards the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv at the beginning of their February 2022 full-scale invasion.
