Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
Maybe also part of the deal was to send those azov commanders back to Ukraine as Selçuk Bayraktar, is the son-in-law of Erdoğan and is chief technology officer of Baykar Makina. Who knows.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
Ahhhhh... interesting. I saw a brief post that Turkey said they never agreed to not send them back to Ukraine. I didn't post it because it was literally two sentences someone posted on Telegram with no external source.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
"According to preliminary information, Russian Lieutenant General Oleg Tsokov was eliminated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Berdiansk. Last night, the Duna Hotel in Berdiansk, where the enemy's military leadership, including Lieutenant General Tsokov, lived, was attacked. Local residents report that almost nothing remains of the hotel. Ambulances and heavy machinery are currently working at the scene to clear the rubble. The area is cordoned off. No one is allowed in." AND "Since August 2022 he commanded the 144th motorized rifle division of the 20th combined arms army of the Russian Federation. He received the rank of lieutenant general in 2023. In addition to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he took part in two Chechen wars and the war in Syria. Russia hasn't confirmed this information." ![]() #highprofile === "Germany will provide several Patriot launchers, additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles, Leopard 1 tanks, demining equipment, about 20,000 artillery shells, and reconnaissance drones as part of a new military aid package to Ukraine worth about 600 million euros - Spiegel. The package is to be announced in the afternoon of July 11 during the NATO summit in Vilnius." === "11 partner countries together with Ukraine signed a memorandum defining the conditions for training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters - Reznikov" === Not sure what's up with all the conflicting stories. A few days ago I posted about his daughter seemingly stating that he was fine. Now this says otherwise.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room II
All kinds of NATO news happening today as the summit in Vilnius. Keep checking back to any posts I make about it as I'm going to try to keep updating them. "NATO's decision on Ukraine's membership path will be agreed in a few hours, according to NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg. "I am convinced that the wording of the summit communiqué will be positive, there will be a strong signal on Ukraine and the path to membership," he said." "NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on the sidelines of the Vilnius summit that Ukraine would receive a "clear signal" regarding membership in the Alliance, but did not give any specifics. President Volodymyr Zelensky is not happy about this." "The Ukrainian language has been added to the NATO website. Was this what Stoltenberg was referring to when he said that there would be good news for Ukraine at the summit?" "Volodymyr Zelensky arrives in Vilnius for the NATO summit. He will take part in the raising of the Ukrainian flag and meet with NATO leaders in the evening. Official meetings are scheduled for tomorrow, including talks with the leaders of the United States, Canada, Germany, and France. Also on July 12, the first meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council with Zelensky's participation will take place." "The final document of the NATO summit in Vilnius will not contain a clause inviting Ukraine to membership talks, but the document will provide for the possibility of an invitation when the allies see favorable conditions. The communiqué, Interfax-Ukraine reports, citing sources, will contain the following wording: "We will send an invitation when the allies agree and the conditions are met." The agency's sources confirmed that they agreed to cancel the MAP for Ukraine. The Lithuanian ambassador to the Alliance also said that there would be no invitation to NATO in Vilnius. Spiegel has read the drafts of the final declaration, and the wording there coincides with the data provided by Interfax-Ukraine. And White House spokesman John Kirby said that Ukraine's accession is "unlikely" in the near future." AND "NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg: Ukraine will receive an invitation to join the Alliance "when we reach an agreement among all members". Member states agree on a three-part assistance package to bring Ukraine closer to accession. The requirement to fulfill the MAP is canceled, there will be a multi-year program for Ukraine's full transition to NATO standards, and a NATO-Ukraine Council will be established." "Zelensky in Vilnius: 'NATO will give Ukraine security, Ukraine will make the alliance stronger.' President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered a public speech in Vilnius amid the ongoing NATO summit, saying he believes in the alliance that "doesn't hesitate, waste time, or look back at any aggressor." "And I would like this faith to become confidence - confidence in the decisions that we deserve and that every (Ukrainian) soldier, citizen, mother, and child expects. Is this really a big wish?" Zelensky said, addressing the crowd. Standing on a stage at Lukishkes Square, Zelensky and his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nauseda were handed the Ukrainian flag that belonged to soldiers defending Bakhmut. After Zelensky's speech, Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas raised the flag over the square. " #zelenskyy

Russia to start piloting 'digital rouble' in August - Interfax Story by Reuters • 6h ago Russia will start testing a digital version of its rouble currency with consumers from August, the Interfax news agency reported on Tuesday, citing the central bank. Russia, like many countries, has been developing digital money over the last couple of years in a bid to modernise its financial system and head off cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. Last breaths of a failing currency & one that the hackers can't wait to rob & tear apart. |
