Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
(wow) Pakistan will also provide weapons to Ukraine According to the largest business edition of India The Economic Times, 159 containers with ammunition for the Ukrainian army will arrive from the Pakistani port city of Karachi to Ukraine through the port in Gdansk. Among them are 155-mm artillery shells (a common NATO standard - Ed.), charges for them, as well as M82 artillery capsules and PDM detonators.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
I was wondering if we'd start seeing regions within Russia wanting to break off and be independent. "Congress of Supporters of the Independence of Ingushetia (now a part of Russia) took place in Istanbul. In their declaration Ingushetia elder condemned Russian annexation of Crimea, invasion to Ukraine and other Russian war crimes. Ingushetia will strive for independence."

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
Posted at 06:25 ET What is known about Soledar? The founder of the Russian "Wagner PMC" Yevheniy Prigozhin claims the capture of Soledar. He claimed that the city was "taken" by his subordinates - without the help of regular troops. The Russian Defense Ministry has already denied his statement and says that the fighting for the city is still ongoing. Soledar is allegedly blocked from the north and south by Russian paratroopers. The Ukrainian Armed Forces said that the city is standing - Ukrainian troops are holding the defense. The spokesman for the Eastern group of troops, Serhiy Cherevatyi, noted that the Russian occupiers staged an information operation, dispersing fakes about the alleged capture and encirclement of Soledar.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
information is scarce. But in my eyes Soledar is just village, there is no reason to put in danger UA units, for this piece of land. I think the tactics are same as always- just let the enemy bleed as much as possible |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
True. But if the enemy is expending so much manpower on a single town, it could pay in the long run to take advantage of these wreckless tactics. UA got out of Severodonyetsk in the summer, but wow look at that cost of manpower Russia suffered.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
Soledar Situation - Honestly I was expecting to wake up to a Russian Soledar today, and that hasn't happened. It can still happen but UA has reduced the Russian envelopment salient. Edit: I am also seeing information from both sides that Ukrainian forces still exist in the town but have largely retreated, some to Siviersk. |

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
It's just like Severodonetsk, they can go ahead and take Soledar. And then say goodbye to Crimea.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
Yes, and I have heard on all kinds of telegrams that Russia is attempting to take Soledar quite literally on the backs of their dead comrades. Running over top of heaps of them laying about... Also, there are precious resources in the Soledar/Bakhmut area... and that is what Russia is reported to be after.

Re: Whiskey's Briefing Room
There was a meeting in LVIV today with Zelensky, Duda (Poland), and Nausėda (Lithuania) where they forced a joint declaration of the "Lublin Triangle"... but also: "Poland will transfer Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine as part of the international coalition. This was stated by President Andrzej Duda during a visit to Lviv." AND "President Zelensky thanked for Poland's decision to transfer tanks. He also stated that Lithuania would provide Ukraine with air defense systems and anti-aircraft systems. The Lithuanian leader confirmed this, but did not name the brands of weapons."
